SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING
IN THE ZELL AM SEE-KAPRUN REGION
Quickly pack up your skis or your board and head off to the slopes of the Zell am See-Kaprun skiing region. The Areitbahn cable car, which takes you to the Schmittenhöhe Mountain, is located only 3 minutes away by car from our apartment building in Kaprun, while the ski bus stop is located only 200 metres away! So, let’s go: The sun is shining and the slopes have been perfectly prepared - in short, the conditions are wonderful for skiing in Austria! And then it’s time: The freshly-fallen powdery snow is glittering, the skiers are doing their turns and a real winter feeling is setting in. There’s nothing better than this!
The Kitzsteinhorn all-year skiing resort in Kaprun (glacier skiing resort) and the Schmittenhöhe Mountain in Zell am See really make skiers’ pulses race. For the snowboarders and freeriders among you, “Mellow Park” on Kitzsteinhorn Mountain, which can be reached by car from your accommodation in only 8 minutes, is a highlight and allows you to run riot across a large area covering around 30,000 m²!

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN THE ZELL AM SEE-KAPRUN REGION
Cross-country skiing through the sparkling landscape deep in snow Experience your body intensely and put it to the test with this beautiful sport. Because cross-country skiing in Zell am See-Kaprun is both a natural experience and a sport at the same time.
You can set out on the cross-country ski trail from right beside our apartment building and you’re on the right track straight away! 200 km of a wonderful, perfectly prepared trail for both skaters and traditional types, and at all levels of difficulty, are available for fans of this type of exercise in this European sports region.
On Kitzsteinhorn Mountain ahigh altitude trail almost 3 km long awaits you. Cross-country skiers will find exceptional conditions there because while you can still train hard at a height of 2,900 metres, no more snow has been lying down in the valley for a long time.

TOBOGGANING
The illuminated toboggan run on the adventure mountain in Piesendorf/Walchen is the only toboggan run made safe by nets from top to bottom. “Fun tobogganing” means a special device with built-in brakes and a holder, which allows you to enjoy the journey up in the t-bar ski lift (transportation by lift for those 140 cm or taller).
“Maisflitzer”/”Maze Speedster” is the name given to the first Alpine roller coaster, which can be found on the Maiskogel Family Mountain. Jumps, waves and bridges mean thrills are guaranteed on the journey into the valley, which lasts around 12 minutes. The starting and finishing points are in the Schaufelberg car park. The two natural toboggan runs in Zell am See-Kaprun are also atmospherically illuminated during the evening hours. The first of these is the 1.5 km-long stretch running from the Köhlergraben Inn through the Schmittental valley to the Waldhof Hotel (illuminated until 11pm).
